My wonderful mother passed away, peacefully, in her own bed, in her own home on Tuesday.
My family will all gather in Walla Walla, WA on Friday to bury her next to her true love, my Dad.
Mom would have been 96 in May, so had a long and full life, with lots of great joys and pride in her family.
I don't know how long I shall be in Seattle, have lots to do there to break up Mom's home.
It is a very sad time, but I feel comfort in knowing my mother didn't suffer and died as she always wished -- in her own bed, pain free... and she knew how much she was loved by her children, her grand children, her great grand children.

Aunt Dorothy told me that when Burl worked at KTEL, he would play "King Of The Road" because your Mother loved the song.

Wonderfully put and I am grieving for the loss of Auntie Dora. She was a great aunt.
My first record LP album was "Hello" by Pat Boone and it was a gift from Auntie Dora. I still have that album.
I am leaving for Seattle Tuesday morning and coming back Friday. I will call your cell. Love, Dave

Thinking of you with much love. No one can ever replace a parent. I'm so glad you were able to go up and straighten things out for her with her care giving situation. What a blessing you were to her.
My prayers are with you and your family.

I am so sorry. I haven't gotten caught up with your blog for quite some time and am sad to see that you have lost your mom. Even at an advanced age, it is still difficult. I lost my mom 17 years ago and I still miss her.
I am glad you have children and grandchildren to surround you. Family can be a great help during such a sad time.
