Hey, I'm back, the mother of four bloggers, the sister of another, the cousin to still more, and I think my son Lee Goldberg ( Leegoldberg.com) got us all started.
Tanks, Lee, or as Poppa Dave used to say at Waistburg Welding Works, " Tanks for your business."
I just read my last entry...
Boring, wasn't it? Mucho apologies for all that gloom and doom about radiation and hope I didn't scare away some of you who are considering and on the border line of saying a yes or a no.
I say ," do it." you have no other choice, do you? Each day is a temporary pain, a temporary burn, and go minute by minute if you have to --- if I can do it, you can do it.
After shocks...?
Yeah, the cough and the shortness of breath and the fatigue are all part of my routine but so is gaining weight and introducing foods as if I were a baby beginning on junior foods... Last night had Chinese Food with my son Tod ( todgoldberg.com) , and his wife , the beautiful Wendy, and I managed to get everything down with no choking, no embarrassing moments. Whew!
Time to pack..
I'd write more, but I need to get ready to get ready to go to Seattle. First I shall pack, then I will unpack , take half of it out of the bag and pack again.. I need to put a big sign on my suitcase that says " MOM has a washer and dryer. MOM has sweaters you can borrow. MOM has a robe you can borrow."
I'm counting the days. I get in very late on Saturday night, will have Mother's Day with my Mom, the next day see my Aunt Gertie, my cousin David, my cousin Claudia... then on Tuesday my daughters Karen and Linda ( authors of " Visual Chronicles") arrive for three days of visit with me and my Mom and to do some book/ art business in Seattle. Great timing .
Wednesday will be my Mommy's 94th birthday! I was at her birthday last year ( was just coming out of a long year of chemo - who'd have thought this year coming out of both chemo and radiation... good God!).
I remember it was cold and raining in Seattle and I loved it.
Okay, I need to go eat because my son Tod begins conversations with me by asking " Did you eat today?"... and I wanna give him a bite by bite replay.
I won't have a computer with me in Seattle. So no updates unless you read them on one of my offspring's blogs.
For those of you who blog, keep on blogging, and for those of you who are readers, please continue to read!
( preferably books by my family!)
Have a happy Mother's Day weekend.
Jan
