January of 2006.
A new year, a new beginning.
Today was to be chemo day, but wasn't.
Easy to explain. My platelet counts were too low, chemo called off. Will try again for next week. In the meantime, the doctor also scheduled my next PET scan for Monday, Jan. 23 and then we shall go from there. Get the results on the 26th.
Start thinking positive.
Book Talk Worth Sharing:
I began, read and finished "740 Park Avenue" the non-fiction book on the richest building in New York City over the last weekend. Was fascinating. All 500 and some pages.
I received an email today that promises some fun conversation to come.
Biographer Tom Nolan wrote me he is doing a book on Artie Shaw and would like to interview me about times spent with Shaw.
Artie and I were friends a long time, having met at a lecture in Santa Barbara in 1976. After having seen what I did for and with actor Jimmy Stewart on his 75th birthday celebration in Indiana, PA, Shaw hired me to handle all press relations for him when the orchestra went on tour in the summer of 1985.
We spent a lot of time in cars driving from point A to point B for concerts and hours and hours in conversations , plus travel time on planes... times just spent walking the streets in New York City - or hanging out in my living room in Walnut Creek, CA.
Too much to go into here, but much of that memory I better dig back up before I meet with the author.
Shall be fun to remember back to a great many funny times.

I need to give my kids a call and say that chemo was a no-go and then can get back on here and share what little news I have.
Okay.
Hope this finds you well and ready to face yet another year.
